Wet Basement Repair
It is a common issue for most homeowners to have a leaking basement because of the material used to build their homes. Stone and concrete can be entered by water which can cause mildew, mold, and will eventually damage the basement.
What Causes Your Basement to Leak?
Rains, especially the persistent kind fills the water table around your home. If your basement is not waterproofed, water can quickly enter the entry points. The water can be seen leaking through the walls and cracks around the basement.
Interior Basement Waterproofing Process
If your basement is leaking, it should be repaired from the interior. It is a practical way of solving the problem because digging outside will be much more expensive. A drainage system that is new and well-functioning should be installed inside. This drainage system will gather the water from the pipe under the floor. It is connected to a sump pump that will remove water from the basement.
Sump Pumps
The sump pump is responsible for removing the water that gets into your basement. It will prevent the basement from leaking and flooding. A sump pump is placed in a sump rock that is found in a hole dug in your basement. Water is drained from the drainage pipes installed beneath your concrete floor into the sump rock. The sump pump is then responsible for removing the water going out of the house or building. Sump pumps need electricity to function. We use a particular type of valve that reduces the noise of the pump while it is operating.
Battery Backup Sump Pumps
It cannot be helped that sometimes, storms affect the supply of electricity in your home and it will cause the sump pump to stop functioning. Water can now leak into the basement if the sump pump fails to drain water coming inside. We highly recommend the installation of a backup battery system for your sump pump to avoid this problem. Even during a blackout, your basement can still be safe from flooding with the use of a backup battery.
